Requirements to build?

I have a feeling that my life isint complete without a hand made single shot rifle.
What requirements, paperwork, liscenses, forms and other arangments do I need to do first to make my dream a reality?
I figured someone on here would know.

As long as you're making it for yourself and it's not one of items regulated by NFA then you don't need anything.

Does an individual need a license to make a firearm for personal use?

No, a license is not required to make a firearm solely for personal use. However, a license is required to manufacture firearms for sale or distribution. The law prohibits a person from assembling a non–sporting semiautomatic rifle or shotgun from 10 or more imported parts, as well as firearms that cannot be detected by metal detectors or x–ray machines. In addition, the making of an NFA firearm requires a tax payment and advance approval by ATF.

Well if you need a licence tax or stamp I am in trouble 10X over.

The only rule about making a gun for yourself is you have to be making it for your self. After its done you can decide to sell it and in some places that may involve having a SN printed on it.

If your intent is to keep it when you make it you are golden nothing needed.
