This is a pre-lock 629 my wife bought me for Christmas in the early 90’s. The Hogue grips were stock. About 7 or 8 years ago the timing was off and my local gunsmith said ship it back. Smith and Wesson replaced the cylinder and lock work for free - pretty impressive. The holster is an Assault Systems belt holster, if anyone remembers that company. Some of the first nylon holsters and bags made; I still have a fair amount of their stuff.

Picked this up this morning from my FFL. Heritage Barkeep. Been looking for one of these for awhile. What's not to like- a snubnose barrel single action in .22LR. :twin:And less than 200 bucks. Shot 50 rds of Wolf MT after the transfer, it is a lot of fun to shoot. Like others have reported, it shoots a little left, but not bad at all. Wasn't meant to be a tackdriver.

Revolvers!! Did someone say 'wheel guns?"
I just cannot stay from them! I love my 1911's and I have a bunch but noting compared to rotund belly guns. Ok. here is one that is a tad bit on the unusual side This is a Adam's patent Tranter Percussion Revolver made in England and shipped to Hyde & Goodrich in New Orleans in 1861 just weeks before the Civil War began. One of three ordered as "Short Barrel Specials." Sure wish this one could talk! Listed as a 54 Bore. Sometimes you will notice that the British will list the caliber as "bore" size. When they cast the ball to fit the gun they would then weigh the appropriate size ball and then see just how many of them would weigh one pound. In this case it took 54 balls to the pound. Approximately .455 dia.
The bottom trigger cocks. rotates and locks the cylinder and the top (inside) trigger fires it.

OK- it finally happened. Mastodon ivory done by David of Collins Woodcrafting. Great communication and fantastic work. These grips are a real joy to hold. The cost was a bloodletting, but you don’t get this kind of work cheaply. If you’re looking for ivory grips (or other material), drop David a note. Highly recommended.
