Did alittle gunsmithing tonight! Got me some Wilson Combat parts and installed them in my RIA 1911, new beavertail grip safety and hammer. For the money you can't beat the RIA 1911.
It was a drop in, but I did have to file about .001 off of it where the trigger bar clears in the firing postion. But other than that it went in perfect.
I bought an RIA frame from Sarco, along with a parts kit. Everything fit except the mag release--had to do a little work on that, but the rest went together easy.

That gun is all types of sweet looking fantasticness... I really am looking for a 1911 chambered in 38 super but something with either a 3" or 4" slide... not really into the 5 inchers yet... I would lean towards RIA, I know they are super reliable, but I couldn't get past the fact that it felt like I was holding a lead brick in my hands... do you know of any lighter 38 supers in 1911 format? I really would love to get my hands on a Colt Defender in 38 super but all i see them in usually is 45ACP... not that I should be surprised... Kimber is a little on the pricey side and I know that the Colt Commander comes in a 38 super and I love the stainless look to it but the 5" slide is a turn off... Thanks for any advice...
Well I'll be a monkey's uncle thank you Dee. Still a little too long for my cup of tea but thank you for the correction I don't really like spreading things around that are false.
