    texn884,
Is your M1A a National Match, Super Match or what grade is it?

What type of groups do you get with her?

Beautiful rifle by the way. Love those M14's and M1A's.

    My SA M14

It is a loaded and I had it fine tuned and bedded by Dan at West Texas Armory. It is about 10 years old and bought it back in January. It shoots tight groups for the first time shooting it and I was impressed so was Dan.

    Thanks for the nice comments.

This is what I did with a surplus Mosin Nagant. I get a 4 in. group at 100 yards, with hand loaded 165 gr. nosler balistic tips.

That's awesome. Can you tell me all that was involved, where you got the stock, did you do the work yourself, etc? I have a couple M44s, and would like to sport one out like that.

I got the stock from Numrich Gun Parts (yes it cost more than the rifle), the after market scope mount and bolt handle came from CTD, and I installed an adjustable trigger from Brownells.

I did all the work myself. Cut down the barrel to 22 inches and removed the rear sight. I used a drill press to attach the scope mount, and made sure that it never moves after screwing it on, with a little JB weld. Same with the bolt handle. A little JBW to make sure it never loosens up. I painted it with a flat black from Brownells, but I was worried about scratch and chips so I used automotive clear coat to seal it.

    My newest toy.

    I like that, a lot!

I am remembering that there was a guy here in Texas building those things a long time ago. I would have bought one but they cost so much, of course they were just about free compared to what one costs today!

I had a Ruger 10/22 (didnt I 300shooter) but Mom shot it once & took it home that day. She lets me shoot it when she goes. I think she would let me borrow it if I asked.

My 2 are kinda "Plain Jane" compared to all the above. I dont have a black one, just a Brown one. M1A, Call him Badger.
    I hunt w/ it out to 200yds.

Past 200yds I request Big Sam to come along. Big Sam Tikka from Finland.
300 WSM Nikon Monarch on top.

That is a couple of nice rifles, fancy enough just as they are!

    Good luck and good shooting!

I used to have a .357 lever action rifle that I truly loved (I think the Mexican gang bangers that moved in across the street from me at my old neighborhood in Houston got it, and all the rest of my guns).

A .357 JHP coming out of a rifle barrel will knock a deer right into the dirt, all the way out to 150 yards!

When I was a kid here in Texas, a gun safe had a glass door on the front of it. Folks did not lock their cars, and some did not even lock their back door.

I can hardly believe what has happened to Texas.

When I was a kid, Texas was a Paradise.

I think we all know what has happened to our beloved Texas, but what we all need to realize and remember is that every major problem we have here in Texas stems from the Washington Government; that is why Texas Patriots left that Union long ago.

What we need to do is to demand that the Washington Government finally admits to that separation, and to Texas Independence!

For the sake of our Children, we must be Free of the Washington Government!

    Deo Vindice!
