Supposedly there was a group of protesters in Angleton the other day.
I heard it was a flop. Maybe ten or so.
That's how it was with the protest in the stone oak area. I didn't even know it was a protest. I thought it was kids fundraising for sports or a trip.

Don’t confuse people showing up with there being a problem. Austin and SAT are an easy drive.

There was a similar gathering in Boerne this weekend and I know that most of those folks were not from around here.
    Good point. Thanks

I probably wouldn't say something like that on the internet. Just incase I have to defend myself with a firearm. Not telling you what to do though.

Trust me, it was purely sarcastic.

One, they would never show up here, because we are way too far apart. People here are armed, and not afraid to use them.

Second, IF they did, it means all forms of official LE is probably gone, and we would be on our own anyways to protect and defend ourselves.

Third, if the Second were to happen, buzzards and worms got to eat too!

    Axxe55,

Where our family farm is in Northeast Texas, the nearest LE agency is 23.2 miles away down a narrow, winding, blacktop county road.
(On my "night of terror" when 4 drunken/doped up thugs decided to burn our farmhouse down, with me & my sister's dog inside, it took 22 minutes for the FIRST deputy to arrive & then only because he was on his way home at end of 2nd shift. = The next 2 deputies arrived 14 minutes later, according to County Central.)

Note: To me at the time, it seemed like 22 YEARS until "Tommy", whom I had gone to HS with, arrived after I called 9-1-1.
(Had he NOT been "off shift" & going home, I think that the unit that arrived 36 minutes after I called for help would have been calling the county VFD & coroner to come put out the fire & take my corpse to the morgue, when they arrived.= LOTS of horrid things can happen in a half-hour.)
NOBODY in our family has "gone unarmed" on the farm, day or night, since.
(All that I had for defense that night was my old Fox DB 12 gauge "bird gun" & an ANGRY 4YO German Shepherd bitch. - NOT a fair fight with 4 criminals with rifles/handguns & several homemade fire bombs.)

    yours, satx

Cellular phones are about the dumbest thing you can steal. Once the phone is reported stolen it won't be able to get activated.

I believe there are ways/services that make it possible with some caveats.
I'd reckon they also might be able to sell a locked phone to some unsuspecting dumb ass. The world is full of them.
And, at the very least, I'm thinking you could also just use one of them phone recycle kiosks at the grocery stores. Newer phones fetch a couple of hundred dollars and even if you are getting $25 for some cheap model, that's $25 profit if you stole it.

Those cellular phone kiosks require you to scan your DL exactly for reasons like that.

Does it have to be your DL ?
It could be a stolen or “borrowed” DL.
The kiosks are VERY secure. They require:

    1) a DL (which the camera detects watermarks/holograms).
    2) they take your picture
    3) A real time remote employee actually verifies the photo and DL match.

The wife was telling me of how two local PD officers were followed home, and their cars set on fire. (Palestine, Texas.) Minor damages to the vehicles, and both perpetrators were arrested from what I understand so far.

A small protest was held at the Palestine Plaza as well the other day.

    I'm still digging into this.
