One of the finest minds to ever hit a stage, his delivery was always flawless. My top four would be Robin Williams, George Carlin, Don Rickles and Milton Berle in that order.

    RIP, George.

I got to see him live back in '89. I was working for media (books, music, video) retailer Hasting's, and their mother company Western Merchandisers would have these huge buyer's conventions every year and they would bring in all these entertainers to perform. At the time, George was under Sony, IIRC, and was asked to perform for the convention. Sony's people came up to the WM/Hasting's people and asked if they wanted his college campus routine or his television friendly routine. Hastings said they wanted the full deal. And they got it. Holy moly, George was a riot, but he was un-cut! It really freaked out some of the execs. To say it was profane would be an understatement. I laughed for hours. (And hurt for days afterwards). Incidentally, I got to see Jeff Healey at one of those conventions too.
