McALLEN, Texas (AP) - The 24-year-old Texas soldier who was
missing for more than a week before being apprehended in Laredo has
been jailed near Fort Hood.
Jail records show Pfc. James Andrew Gonzalez was booked Friday
into the Bell County Jail in Belton. He's held for the Army for
being absent without leave, or AWOL.
Gonzalez's family has said they were told that someone had
called the Army to say Gonzalez was kidnapped, but the Army has
said it found no evidence of a kidnapping.
Fort Hood officials haven't returned a call for comment. The
Fort Hood main gate is about 15 miles west of Belton
