Romanian Dragunov

I was wondering how to take off the flash hider-muzzle brake. Any ideas? I have a .30 cal suppressor and thought about seeing suppressing the Dragunov. I have searched the internet but no specific instructions yet.

It looks like it is threaded and mine has a tack weld on the bottom of the barrel, could probably take a dremel
and grind enough off to back off the brake. Just my thoughts on it as I havn't wanted to take mine off.
There is also a small pin on the front site that is spring fed to keep recoil vibrations from it backing off.

Some are threaded &some are welded, also the barrel will have to be turned down

I used a cutting disk on a rotary tool to break the spot weld on my AK. Not sure if the Saiga has the little plunger which needs to be pressed in for the flash hider to be turned or not. The threads are likely the opposite of what we use in America. A dremel will take care of that weld for sure, though.

Left hand threads are pretty common for AK muzzles.

Just what I was concluding. Some online videos show how to rethread for standard quick connect suppressors. Probably decrease value of Dragunov.

My Romanian AK has 14mm left hand thread and I already changed out the 45 degree slant brake .
comparing the barrel size the PSL may also be 14mm threads.

The PSL does have 14x1LH threads, if they've not been ground off.

Thanks for the info , I may change it out also to something that works a little better.
