    That is pretty cool.

    I remember some guy over on the CMP forums once converted a 1903 Springfield into a .22LR, cool project also.

    Going to keep an eye our for junk M1 Garand parts now for a future project like this.

    These are neat rifles! They might be a bit heavy, though.

    Just a thought. There wouldn't be any problem using a nylon cast receiver in Garand style and running the bolt directly in the nylon as the Remington Nylon 66 did. It would be a lot cheaper and lighter. The "wood" could be brown plastic and the whole rifle would be cheaper and lighter. That could make someone their first million dollars. I'd sure buy one!
