The grips, the fibre optic sights, fixed rear sight, and barrel length. I am not sure but the twist rate may be new, too. I am GP-twins for a reason. :-).

Unless you want to shoot heavy +P+ 44 mag loads, then get a Redhawk

I can not believe that I couldn't stir that pot for the ruger wheel guns..lol

I don't know about that. The 500 is a pretty heavy frame..

I don't know about that. The 500 is a pretty heavy frame..

TBH, i plan on going Model 29 and 19/66 for my next 44 mag and 357 mag

I bought a ruger single action 44mag. The cowboy brand bisley.

I put 3 rounds of factory Hornady through it, and pieces of the gun flew off. The spring and plunger and whole assembly went down range.
and some parts went backwards and hit me in the eye.
Thank God I was wearing eye protection.

An older one true. Many of my "newer" Smiths have been sent back for issues. My 19, 66 and 940 no issues at all.

Casings on my 617 would get stuck when ejecting regardless of ammo used. I also have a 640 that was sent back the thumb latch was very rough when releasing cylinder. I could hear a scraping noise and see metal shavings. To top it off the set screw to hold the latch was loose
when I picked up from my ffl. Got home and and the threads were stripped.

Hmmmm? That's not good. I hope you had direct contact with S&W customer service and got good results.
My 640 is my most favorite carry gun (with the hip-grip extension).

Yes, bought at gander mountain in spring.
Ruger fixed it, then I sold it.
