I have the MPR in 5.56. Outstanding rifle that can be had for 599 and sometimes cheaper.

Yep, love the MPR, but I'm going to stay with 5.56/.223.

Seems like a strange combo for me. A low priced entry level rifle that shoots a round most beneficial if you reload. I still want one.

I am getting one if its going to be a similar price to the 5.56 version. Thats a whole lot of gun for 599

My only gripes with the mpr are use of unshrouded carrier, and my extension tube wasn’t to my liking in it barely retained the buffer retainer. both replaced immediately. I believe it also uses a unique barrel nut.

Machining on mine was definitely a case of the operator not checking things. It works it’s just the magwell got hogged out a bit more than needed but the four points that contact the mag body are in spec. My pic rail was tight. Got my scope on though. Got drunk one night and cerakoted it Rhodesia camo colors. She’s special. Lol

If their 450 bushmaster is the same price heck yeah I’ll try a ruger ar again. I want a gunsight scout in 450 bushmaster anyway.

Never shot a .450 Bushmaster, I have shot the .458 Socom and that was a blast. Assuming they are pretty close in design and purpose that could be a nice rifle to have around. Ammo is looking around 1.10 to 1.50 for Hornandy FTX rounds.

.458 was for suppressing and heavy hitting loads. 450 was for a brush gun/hog type gun but the two use different bullets. 458 using true rifle diam. And 450 bsh using pistol caliber same as 45 acp.

    .458 socom 250grains at 2150fps
    .450 bushmaster 250 grains at 2214

Different parent case. Similar supsonic loads. Should be fun.
