Several years ago a good family friend gave my Son a Ruger MK II. It had been horribly disfigured by Bubba........the front sight cut off and threaded a pitch not compatible to any standard suppressor threads. It actually looked like an NPT thread lol. It was also missing a lot of finish and had some deep pitting corrosion. The plastic grips were FUBAR too...My Son has had it in the back of the safe for several years and the other day he told me we ought to fix it up a bit and give it back to our friend for being such a good friend......

    What I started with

    20230208_133712.jpg

One of the grip screws ...lol.............

    20230208_135350.jpg

Cut 1 inch of the barrel to have a shoulder, and threaded it 1/2X28........

Turning down to the Major Diameter

    20230208_202157.jpg

    Test fitting threads..

    20230208_222741.jpg

I bead blasted the upper and lower then milled the billboard off the side of the receiver....no more "Warning Read Owners Manual" blah blah, blah......

    20230209_171812.jpg

I hand polished the frame and receiver to get as much pitting out as I could without removing an excess amount of metal...........

The front strap had a SSN electro penciled on to it, So I put some engraving over it. I also covered as much as the deep pitting as I could by putting a KC Chiefs logo over it................

I engraved the side of the upper for our friend and rust blued the gun. Bought some new grips for it and added a RDS mount that will fit a Holoson or Trijicon. Notice I removed all the pitting from the front of the receiver...
