I have an offer to buy a Stainless Vaquero Model 5144 with the 2 cylinders (45 Colt and 45 ACP). It is in the factory box but it is used.

I have a few Vaquero Model 5104 revolvers and wondered if anyone had the extra 45 ACP cylinder model? How does the 45 ACP shoot in these??

It comes with a Triple K belt and holster. I hope the guy has a thin waistline. The last belt/holster rig I bought was a 46" waist. It looked like a hoola-hoop on me. It came with the pair of Vaquero 5104 revolvers.

I have not seen it yet because it is a 'friend-of-a-friend'.

Ruger is known for historically having inconsistent throat dimensions, especially with their combo cylinder packages.

I have a Blackhawk that is ok accurate with both 45 cylinders. But when I shoot lead Bullets in the ACP cylinder I get major leading in the throats because of poor throat sizing. My limit is about 3 cylinders (18 rounds) before an actual reamer must used very gently to scrape the lead out. Traditional cleaning is very difficult to get the lead out.

The size of the Bullets are the normal .452 size for lead.

So, needless to say, I gave up on shooting 45ACP out of that revolver.

Don't know about .45 Colt and .45 acp Vaqueros but my .357 Blackhawk does fine with the 9mm cylinder. I only used jacketed 9mm.

I have the New Vaquero in .357 Magnum. I wish that it had more effective sights, but no complaints, here.

My New Vaquero .357M has proven to be everything I wanted from a singla action revolver. The traditional Colt SAA sights are right on, and definitely old school!. When I think my shooting is good with my semi-autos I take out my NV and get humbled quickly. Never forget the fundamentals.
You should get the gun, shoot it and then do a range report.

I got it and it is the OLD Vaquero (model 00518).
I ordered a reduced power spring set from Wolff Springs like I did for my Vaquero 44-40.
    We'll see what it does.

Well it was so nice my buddy wanted more than I did. Sold it for what I had into it with the spring kit installed. I have 2 other New Vaqueros in 45 Colt so I guess I'm still OK with it.
