    Policy adopted 6/22/2022,

Police cannot chase you for minor offenses like drinking in public, or anything not "an obvious threat to any person.":

I think this will end horribly...

Considering how little they are already doing about some crimes in Chicago, that is probably just a case formalizing actual practices. I suspect it will not be long before it is the POLICE fleeing the crime scenes instead of the criminals in Chicago!

Did anyone note the glowing praise NPR laid on Chitown for following such enlightened cities that already have this type policy in effect? "Baltimore, Philadelphia and Portland, Oregon, already having implemented foot pursuit policies". Those lefty metro areas are some of the most rapidly rising crime zones in the country. Well Chiraq is already to join them as soon as that goofy Mayor Lightpole can get Indiana to quit selling all those guns to the Chitown bad guys. Ever notice the more lefty the location, the stranger the laws they lay on?

Defund the police was the mantra forever - this is what you get.

They may as well just finish defunding and depolicing. Illinois must issue carry permits now to qualified citizens, and Chiraq cannot ban guns per SCOTUS rulings. Let the citizens handle shit. Police can move on to private sector jobs where they'd be better appreciated, better paid, and not have to deal with Chicago politics anymore.

Or move on to jurisdictions where they are supported and appreciated! I believe that is what is hurting the major cities now - instead of retiring, officers are moving and going to work in better places. If memory serves, there were several departments in Florida that were actively recruiting the NY's Finest!
