On 05-08-2009 I had my pistol stolen out of my locked truck, at lunch time, at my house, in my driveway while I was inside less than 30 feet away eating a sandwich. I was inside all of 20 minutes.

Sorry to hear about your loss.

Must have been a very good sandwich, not have notice the alarm going off. Of course car thieves are pretty quick breaking in and getting out.

not have notice the alarm going off.

Assuming he had an alarm, it was armed, and it was worth a damn. Most of the factory alarms that come on modern US cars are not worth a damn. My truck (not the one I am currently selling) has been broken into twice without the alarm ever going off.

    cnl390,

Sorry for your loss, will add this to my watch list. I presume you have filed a report with your local agency and this is entered into the National Crime Information Computer (NCIC).

Hopefully, it will be recovered soon.

Filed with the Terrell Hills Police Department.

The detective told me that there are crooks that drive my neighborhood looking for cars up a driveway (with houses or fences on both sides of drive) then one guy jumps out does the deed and takes off.
My neighborhood is less than 2 square miles with a population of about 5000 and we have I think 19 police officers. These crooks must have balls of steel.
