On the subject of hunters shooting at a sound.
On an elk hunt in AZ I was sitting on a watering hole waiting for sunset.
After sunset a truck pulled up on the trail, puller right up to the water.
I was walking back to camp, passing the truck when I heard 4x shots ring out about 5 seconds between each. The I watched them looking by flashlight for blood trail or downed animal.
I ran I to that same truck the next morning, stopped and asked them about the shoot. They guy said he saw something move by the water, thought it was an elk. Shot and it didn't move, so he kept shooting. Doesn't thing he hit anything.
Some guys have no clue. He was shooting in the dark at a movement. After hiking up a hill and looking for maybe 2 minutes.
It could have been me moving down there, and I would have shot back.
