Haven't been to a gunshow in Angelo in quite awhile. When I had the money ...I didn't have the time. Now I have the time...but no money. Can't win for losing.
Is it worth the three-hour drive from San Antonio? I've got nothing else going on this weekend; but after driving to Houston for a weak show late last year, and the Denton show a few weeks ago that was equally unimpressive, I am a bit hesitant to drive that far (200+ miles) unless I know it's worth it.
Plus I am kinda gun broke at the moment, but the credit card is nearly paid off!
Hmmmmmm.....I had thought about driving up to Austin tomorrow to hit a few of the shops there, now I am wondering if I should just head up to San Angelo instead! It's about double the distance, and I haven't had much luck at gun shows I've driven far to attend.
Plus, we've got the biug SAXET show in north SA next weekend, and I just went to the lousy TGS show in Live Oak last weekend and the monthly SAXET show the weekend before that where I bought two rifles.
The gun show was ok...no real deals, though I did manage to find a new holster, a couple of straps, some killer salsa, killer fidge and got to watch the excitement of local LEO coming in and picking up a couple of items that were believed to be stolen.
When I walked out it looked like a raid was getting ready to happen...from the 6 SAPD and 4 TGCSO cars that rolled up! In the end two TGCSO officers went in, talked to the guy at the table and walked out with a gun and a sword.
