This is the first time I've ever gone to the range alone. I've avoided it because I want more experienced shooters to watch me to make sure I do everything right, to yell "Finger!" if I'm not keeping my finger off the trigger, etc.

The rules are in my head, but not ingrained in my body yet. Hell, I don't even know my own guns that well yet. I'm still a beginner.

I'm glad I went though. I got to spend some quality time with my Walther PK380 and my H&R 733.

The Walther was fine except towards the end. I got a double feed, cleared it out, then got another one. So, I cleared it out and just put it away. I had been just about to change over to the H&R anyway. I'm starting to get a little bit of a rhythm with the H&R, except that the grip is SO tiny!

    Sorry, no pics.

Sounds like a good time. To familiarize yourself more i would reccomend picking up some "snap caps" & when your sitting around the house in the evening load up a mag with some dummies & practice loading a round in the chamber & dry fire. It will help when your at the range & you will be more familiar when handling your weapon.

Okay I'll go for sure. What are you bringing?

Not sure yet. Was going to bring some BP stuff, but the weather is looking kinda funky. A bolt gun or two for the 300 yard steel. 4" stainless GP100, Colt competition 9 mm 1911....

I may change my mind, the weather is looking good to run the boat for a bay trip...I'll be keeping an eye on the weather. Wind looks good for Saturday, Sunday is 20...with gust to 36

The pistol range is covered and with the steel targets shooting in a light rain is doable.
I’m planning on being there regardless.
Way back when I was a Chindit in Burma the rain didn’t stop us!
