Glad to hear he was stopped in time.

When will people realize that Hollywood, violent gaming, and bad (or non-existent) parenting are major players in creating these wack-jobs.

Add to that the fact this Nation has turned away from God and you have a real problem.

So a person that was in the nuthouse can buy a gun? Good thing the NCIS is on top of things and HIPPA laws are there. Sheesh when are folks gonna wake up to realize the needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few.
You do realize that is the argument the anti gun crowd is using. Take away all the guns because of what a few with guns MIGHT do. Better to violate the rights of a few to benefit the many.
What other rights should we allow to be violated for the many?

Either juvie records were sealed (thus not NICS accessible) or he got it private party.
If it was court ordered, the records need to be open.
For those that have enough presence of mind to realize they have a problem and need and ask for help, not so much. At least not unless they have a problem committing violent acts on others.

Everyone is afforded their right to "reasonable bail," it's another one of those pesky RIGHTS we defend. Granted, in this case, it should not be hard to deny bail based on a "clear, and present danger to the community." Frankly, if I were the judge, I would have him held, and evaluated for 72 hours, then set a high bail, with monitoring restrictions.

known nut job bought a rifle. Great job with those back ground checks. That being said the FFL is the final stop. We were able to not sell to people that raised alarms or felt off. And Jesus looking at that kid I wouldn’t sell to him.

Clearly a mental health issue, already in “the system” still didn’t get flagged. Yet “universal background checks will fix this” my white ass they will. FBI can’t even flag the ones that are known crazy.

"The dad also claimed that Aceves had stopped taking his prescribed medication, and that the family was living in fear of him after he had purchased the AR-15."

Dear ol' Dad should be held responsible for this kid as he didn't see fit to report the kid to the SAPD? $50K bail means someone, likely dear ol' Dad likely put his house up. It would be fitting if the kid skipped and the bail forfeited.

"Aceves was released from jail after posting $50,000 bond. He is due back in court for a preliminary hearing on July 26.

    For reals?

Well, it's a good thing nothing has happened to make this nutburger feel persecuted or anything...

Good chance we'll be seeing his name pop up in the news again in the next couple of weeks.

Ain’t nobody gotta pay it though.

Yup - if you don't have the cash, no one else is responsible for bailing you out. 50K bond? Ouch, typically that means half a million for the bail. Either parents or grandparents put up some serious cash from savings, or someone is gonna lose their home when this shithead skips bail.
