I don't think so, but is 3gun considered a "professional sporting event"?
Does it matter? To me it's a no win situation. Even if you're right, going to jail and then spending the time proving you're right, is not a win to me. You would lose time and effort and in the end it doesn't get you closer to entering a professional sporting event with any type of firearm.

Well, what I wanted to say is that it'll likely be a cold day in hell before you get me to a "professional sporting event"

I'd say the NFL are such crybabies that I don't consider them professional... but I dont consider them at all.

The only reason I know the name Colon Caperneck is similar to the reason I know names like Clinton, Fienstien, Whinestien, etc... they are imfamous to me.

Well isn't that peachy... sorta like that nice nurse that was arrested for refusing to take an unconscious man's blood... if it's found to be a wrongful arrest, then my lawyer will be seeing dollar signs.

I don't intend, nor do I want to be the test case- but the way the law is written, unless the entire verbiage is there, it's not a valid notification. More a case of shitty legislation writing than anything.

For those wondering about test cases, I have one word for you. Concealed

We should start a thread, where/what did you get away with carrying that you weren't allowed to?

    Oh wait... scratch that idea

This whole area is one where Colorado was easier. very simple to determine where you couldn't carry (federal places that supercede state law like schools, etc and places that have metal detectors) any state or municipal building was always legal unless they used metal detectors to ensure everyone is disarmed... this included college campuses.

Signs in CO mean exactly dick- no force of law... worst case if they spotted your gun, they can ask you to leave... failure to leave at property owner's request could result in a trespass ticket. Walked past so many anti-gun signs there, I had to re-learn here in TX... was never spotted in 6 years of daily carry.

Your employer could fire you on the spot for carrying, but no charges would apply as long as you left when requested. But that's an "at-will employment" thing, not a gun thing

I was only referencing that a Class C can result in an arrest.

    Texas, ya'll
Just got back from a week in Vegas. I don't do the whole gambling / shows / bars / buffet scene, so I spent a week shooting at various public shooting areas in the surrounding desert area. Nevada's laws with respect to carrying (open and concealed) is a bit different. They don't have a fixed wordage concealed prohibition sign like we do in Texas. Anyone can open carry and interestingly, you can open carry in the airport (in the non-secure area), but you can't carry concealed there. The casino / "resort" where I was staying basically has a policy of no open carrying so that it doesn't scare the tourists, but if you are carrying concealed, they will ignore it. I saw more people open carrying in the week I was there than I have in Texas since we allowed it if you have a CHL. That is probably because in Texas, only around 4% of people have CHLs and even a smaller percentage of those would choose to open carry. In Nevada, everyone is legally able to open carry if they choose, so that puts a higher percentage of potential carriers out there. Las Vegas has a population of around 633K whereas Houston is around 2.3M. So, Houston is about 3.6 times larger than Las Vegas, but the pool of potential carriers is greater.

Las Vegas is a tourist town, so the population of tourists at any given time can be higher then the actual population. Nevada laws are not the same as Clark County laws, but yes the mindset there is different.

Although I was staying in the tourist part of the town, I was not there most of the time. I suspect that I was mainly in areas frequented by locals. From what I saw, most of the tourists seem to stay along the Strip area and are not the type like myself who drives through other areas just looking around. Last time I was there, during my driving around, I stumbled across the Red Rock Canyon area. It's a nice drive... I've also been so far to the east that I ran out of streets also.

I visited Armscor in Pahrump one day and on the way back along NV-160, I turned north on Lovell Canyon Road (36°01'06.5"N 115°33'40.9"W). I eventually ended up back on NV-160, but back closer to Pahrump. I think I ended up on Trout Canyon Road near 36°08'51.2"N 115°43'42.8"W, which would have meant that I had followed Lovell Summit Road to get there.

    So, basically, this route:

Not exactly the typical tourist agenda for Las Vegas, I suspect... :)

Did you ever check out the Valley of Fire? I think it's more parklike now, but it's still pretty cool.
