SBS

I may look into getting a SBS, and just want to get an idea of the factory made SBS available, like around the 14" barrel mark. What do you have? photos appreciated.

Oh sweet, Mossberg seem to have a better selection than Remington when it comes to 14" barrels and they're quite a bit cheaper!! I may consider a Mossberg instead.

I found this Fabarm Martial Ultra Short 14", very nice looking short barrel... but I don't know if there is a blackhawk / knoxx specops recoil reducing stock for it... or something similar. They have a telescopic stock available on their website, just don't think it's recoil reducing like the knoxx. Them Italians don't give much details on their site.

An SBS is an AOW, right? Couldn't you send in a form 1 for AOW and $5 and then saw your shotgun off to whatever length you want? It's not like shotgun barrels are complex. A little file work to clean up the edges and some quick bluing would make it look professional.

If you did it to a side-by-side would you need a form 1 for each barrel?

Some, not all. If it EVER had a buttstock on it, it is not an AOW, it is a SBS.

All Form 1s are $200, The $5 tax is for transfers of an AOW, not making an AOW.

Only one, but don't give the .gov any ideas.

You're welcome, Outbreak. That is a basic, working definition only. Remember, the ATF can and does make judgments that are polar opposites from what was was from time to time, and if you get caught in it, it is you that gets to spend time at club fed.
