I love my SCAR 17. The PWS brake from the factory shoots with very little recoil. Absolutely the least recoil of any .308 that I own. After putting a 100 rounds through it, and you take it apart to clean it, but it is spotless. My only gripe was that it took 13 months to get 2 extra mags. Mine is FDE, and I wanted the FN FDE mags to match. Accuracy is outstanding. You can't beat being able to lock the stock to the side for CQ work. The stock is rock solid and the cheek rest is adjustable. I mounted a nice scope and it has held the zero very well.
The replacement lower that uses PMAGs is all metal, but it costs $425.00 stripped. Too rich for my blood, that buys a lot of extra mags.
I never really liked the SCAR 16S, but the SCAR 17 is really sweet.
Almost certainly, folding stock guns like this will be banned from further sales in the coming years. Get one while you can....
