Actually when I was in grade school (Early 90's) kids were still being disciplined by the Principle the ol' fashioned way.

Wasn't the same in high school though... I was interrogated by school officials and a police officer because someone "reported me talking about a Columbine-style attack on the school". Turned out someone overheard me and a friend talking about guns, and thought we were naturally talking about gunning down everyone. It was a crock of shit, and I even laughed at them at one point, which got a great reaction from them, lol. They threatened me with charges of making a terroristic threat and all this other scare tactics junk, asked me if I had access to guns, and if I knew how to make bombs, so on and so forth. I suppose they also didn't like me telling them I knew where to get guns, knew how to operate them, knew how to build explosives / molotovs, and all the other tid bits.

The schools will also trample on all your rights now. When i was in HS a buddys car was parked off campus and they preceded to search his car for drugs since he didn't look right. There was also have random days for locker searches where they went into every locker while we were in class and of course they brought in drug dogs to look for things. "whats the matter kids? If you got nothing to hide whats the problem?"

Yeah if you are on school grounds you don't have rights. It becomes a complete micro-dictatorship.

My senior year of HS my truck got searched. It was right after the opening weekend of dove season, and I had a bunch of empty shotgun shells in the back. They said the drug dog was "alerted" on my truck. Had a few boxes of shells in the front, which were confiscated, along with a lighter and a hunting knife. Luckily the principal was pretty cool and gave them all back at the end of the day.

Same in the mid/late-80s when I was going to grade school. You would be disciplined for being smart in class, counseling for every little thing was still a ways off, and parents didn't protest most school discipline - never mind hire lawyers to fight it. The common sense that everyone feels has been lost was still (mostly) present.

The schools will also trample on all your rights now.

As a minor, your rights are pretty limited to begin with and only decline once you enter into (temporary) government custody during the school day.
