scratch on scope

Bought a weatherby mkV with a nikon 2.5x10 50 mm ao today. The rifle is pristine but the scope has a terrible scratch that runs from the front to the adjustment cover.Anybody know how to cover this without it looking like hell. I have called nikon and got a recording . Supposedly they will call back

Try a Sharpie. Just put a fine line in the scratch itself, not all over the scope.

Sometimes the more you do to it, the worse it looks.

dawico, I thought that might work but was not sure . I will give it a try. I hate to mess up this rifle. If it does not work I will change out scopes. thanks for the repy.
