Too bad that many folks are so opposed to completing a simple bill of sale/receipt, one maybe would have helped in an instance like this.

If we had full registration on every sale it would be even better, right?

Of course it would. Then they would be easy to find because they would be piled in the street getting run over by a bulldozer.
