Small truck Tacoma in the lead and half ton I’m willing to try a Silverado

I’m in DFW and happy to let you check my Silverado out

Haven’t owned it long enough to have an informed opinion, but I really like this truck so far.

There is only 1, Ford SuperDuty, F 350 King Ranch if you live outside the city limits, F 250 Platinum if you live inside unless you live in San Antonio city limits then you drive a Toyota since they make them in San Antonio.
    Sigh.

So, I saw a Titan "Platinum Reserve" truck today.
Not for nothing, just something I didn't know about.
We were both driving, so I couldn't look at it much .

Appreciate it. I’ll pm you sometime.

Yeah I really like how they look. If they actually get 20plus to the gallon I’m interested.

I was on the Tacoma train, but not a fan of their pricing, new design, or all the problems I keep hearing about with the new gen. I wound up going Frontier Midnight SV. Granted, mine is a street queen, but so far, so good.

The only regular problem I hear of them lately is the battery design is faulty and causes corrosion on the positive post. Most guys just buy a new, different battery. I bought the warranty, so I'll be a pain on my local dealer instead.

My son in law has one and loves it. It has the big tires and a bit of a lift.

I should have asked how accessible hunting areas or more remote camping areas will be. I’m not gonna rock crawl lol, but I only needed 4wd and higher clearance for winter time.

I’m also curious about a Jeep Cherokee. Would love to find a diesel one.
You might wanna get that place to crawl before you go car shopping [smile]

The computer in the truck indicates 26 mpg as the best average over a 25 mile distance that the truck ever got, but there’s no context. I’m guessing it was slow-ish highway driving with the cruise control set at 60.

I’m just under 20 in mixed driving, but I’m usually at 80mph on the highway.

I've always been curious about the accuracy of the computer mpg readings.
The computer in my car once told me I got 99 mpg for a 15-mile drive. That might seem odd but I believe it was correct.

Of course, the drive was coming down out of the Rockies, 100% downhill, and I didn't touch the accelerator for the entire time, so there's that. :)

    That place east of Waco....
    Following this thread.....

My 2008 F-150 XLT is getting long in the tooth & having small issues popping up. If I have to get a new one soon, I want an SUV that looks & acts like a REAL SUV (4-Runner, Armada, Expedition)....not those bubble-buggy wannabes (BTW, Ford Explorer....WTF?)

My wife wants me to get another truck so we can do yardwork & furniture moving as needed. I told her I can get a trailer for that, but I wanted secure covered interior storage for hauling guns & luggage. She still wants a truck. I told her she can trade her Traverse in for one. So, with the troubles she's had with her car, she might get a truck......probably like her best friend's F-250 4X4.....

    ....gotta love Texas!

I bought into the blue koolaid and bought a 2009 F350 crew cab. I don't know why. At 86k the front end needed new ball joints and steering, $800. Then it had a rattle. The rubber bushings that isolate the cab from the frame were gone. You could crumble them between your fingers. That was going to be another $1500 (the bushing sets are $100 each and there are 6). I converted it to a bowtie and put training wheels on it.
