CORPUS CHRISTI - What was supposed to be a routine child removal by Child Protective Services Thursday turned into a messy confrontation between the family and police officers.
On Wednesday, Eric Tunchez thought he knew several men standing along Weber Road, so he pulled over. However, when he did, police said a man fired several shots at him. Luckily, no one was hurt and most the bullets hit his car.
Tunchez's mother was furious. She and his brother said they didn't know why he was fired on. A day later, CPS came to the family home on the 4200 block of Acushnet to take his sister's two children - the agency wouldn't say if it was because of the shooting.
Police said when the younger brother found out, he charged at an officer and was tased. When his mom heard about it she did the same thing and was also arrested.
Finally, when Tunchez arrived at the home police said he too grabbed an officer, so he too was thrown onto the hood of a police car and handcuffed.
It is unclear if any of the four people will be charged with threatening or assaulting the officers, but unlike Wednesday, they were clearly not the victims on this occasion
