I didnt say chair force. And I’ve seen plenty of soldiers that had never held a firearm before basic. But that’s not what I said. I said SOCOM operators.

I’m familiar with the fallacy of authority. And I recognize idiotic statements when I see them. You don’t become a super badass at anything unless you know wtf you’re doing. If you don’t know wtf your doing, it stands to reason you’re not a super badass.

    I rationalize it thusly.....

“ just because someone is a super badass fighter pilot doesn’t mean he knows anything about aircraft.....”

“Just because someone is a super badass race car driver doesn’t mean he knows anything about cars.....”

“Just because he’s a super badass porn Star doesn’t mean he knows anything about sex....”

I’m not the brightest bulb on the block but that sh1r sounds pretty fkn stupid to me.

As far as possibly “breaking” a wheel gun, I see firearms as a tool. Tools break. I wore out and broke so much sh1t on uncle sugars nickel I’ve lost count. And I trust the judgement of my fellow soldiers a hell of a lot more than someone ranting about petty gun range bs.

.... my $.02. No hurt feelings, take it for what you will.

Well, those examples you give are somewhat accurate.

Do you want a race car driver to fix your car, or a mechanic?

Do you want a fighter pilot to fly the 747 your family is flying to spain on, or a guy who has flown them for years?

Do you want that super badass porn star to take a look at why your peter isn't working right?

See what I'm getting at? You don't seem to grasp how huge the world of firearms is. You can know everything about the Beretta M9, and can be lights out with it

That doesn't mean you can just pick up a colt police positive and be just as accurate, and just as fast.

You can be the best AR15 shooter in the world, that doesn't mean you can just grab a guys m1 Garand and know how to work it.

Just because you spent years learning how to do a few things, doesn't mean you'll just learn how to do something you were never taught.

And guns are tools, only a fool treats them like crap and intentionally tries to break them.

There are exceptions, but there is zero reason to slap a cylinder shut on a revolver.

also, you are right, you don't become a super badass by not knowing what the f you are doing.

Thats why the first thing you have to do to become a member of the US military special forces is to load and shoot a revolver

This also explains how these guys in action movies and video games are amazingly competent with whatever firearm they pick up. They are badasses after all, so of course they know wtf they're doing.

You claim to know what an appeal to authority is, but you don't seem to know it enough to realize that you are using that fallacy to argue your point.

But whatever. Don't listen to me, I'm not going to be the one who fixes the guns you break

Oh it's quite possible to break a wheel gun especially when you abuse it. Expensive tools are also supposed to be cared for and used properly. How often are SOCOM operators using revolvers anyway?

Not my pic but this security guard and his setup were apparently spotted at a cricket wireless store in Houston...
