I want to mount a flashlight on my M&P 40 Compact but I'm having trouble finding one short enough. Here's a picture...

It only has 2 cuts on the rail. Anyone know what might fit?

The Olight PL-Mini 2 will probably fit.

it only needs 2 slots so it would work.

Is that a thing? Haven't had any trouble with mine going on 4 1/2 years.
    No problems with mine either.

Streamlight TLR7A will fit nicely on there, and won't turn that nice Smith & Wesson into an IED unlike Olights.

That is a 7A. It *might* stick out a tad on your M&P Compact, as, IIRC the M&P Compact (now Subcompact in the 2.0 - same form factor) is 3.5 inch barrel, vs the 4 on the full size M&P.

If you're gonna carry it - the TLR7 is definitely the way to go - the flatter profile is way more comfortable to carry than the more bulbous designs out there.

Here's a couple Primary Arms links - the top is the original TLR-7 - it might fit closer in to the trigger guard and not stick out as much. It wasn't well liked by many, because the way the switches work.

The TLR7A gives you more traditional switches (pushing forward, not pushing in) - they have 3 variants of the basic 7A - the "High" "Low" and "Flex" models. The high has tall switches that are easier to activate, for me. The low has a lot less meat to the switch, and you push in more from the bottom. The "Flex" includes both the high and low switch plates, so you chose which one you like. They're all the same price, so might as well get the Flex and figure out which switches you like more.

The TLR-7SUB as mentioned by another poster isn't meant to work on actual picatinny rail, it was redesigned to attach to guns like the P365 and Glock 43X.

There are lots of great lights out there, i see no value offered by olight
This was why I bought several SureFire E1B-MV BACKUP® with the single battery & pocket clip design it turned a ball cap into a headlamp
