My swag bag runneth over...and my wallet is thinner.
Lehigh Defense: talked to the owner at length in my quest to find a better 308 rifle bullet with good subsonic expansion. Got a bunch of samples to load up and try on some hogs.
BTW-I spoke with the Hornady, Berger, & Sierra reps at length. They didn't sound like it was something that would show up in their product line soon.
Berry's: said they've been approached by US Gov't to develop a 230gr 308 copper-plated bullet...naturally I'm very interested. He also said not to be afraid to push their bullets to 2000fps in the 458 Socom and 50 Beowulf loads as they have thicker plating than their more popular pistol caliber bullets (I may slowly work those loads up).
Cadex: If you are looking at Chassis setups, talk to them and place a $5k order to get to Gold Level plus Shotshow discount (gets to 25% off). I'd suggest not going to the Drake Vendor, he's simply a retailer with associated markup.
Gemtech & YHM: Mandatory stops as always. New suppressors to check out.
Desert Tech (formerly DTA): love the product, but their order fulfillment has been slower than their given estimates. Still, I love these guys for turning down an SRS order with a Middle Eastern Country on the chance these weapons might get used against US troops.
Barrett: MRAD barrels are here! Really. In 308 and 300 WinMag (and 338Lapua of course). They have a cool carbon fiber barrel not yet on the price list...I like.
Quickload: if you reload, buy it. $140 at shotshow (cheaper than on line and no shipping req'd).
NatureBlinds: check em out, from Kerrville
Dillon Calendar: get one (or more)
IWI: checked out the Tavor. You can get them in 9mm, but if you want a short suppressor-ready SBR, gonna have to cut it yourself. I believe our own Ole Cowboy has shot it suppressed on his visit to Israel, looks like it would be a nice rig.
