The evolution continues. Added a chunk of old leather belt.
There is about a half inch of material inside there to screw into but I still put a flush nut inside anyway.

nothing to brag about NEF Pardner Protector

That's an 870 clone, so don't knock it too hard. It's actually a slight step up from a base 870 IMO because the trigger guard is metal and not plastic.

The only meaningful differences I can find besides the hump in the back of the receiver (purely cosmetic) are the longer magazine tube makes it so standard 870 barrels won't fit... unless you put a sleeve in front of the locking ring. ;) My 870 actually has the stock off one of those right now. The receiver on the NEF version is also thicker and heavier than the 870 I own.

Here's a fun set off my cell phone. From a low ready, dumping 6 target loads. Scroll through them right and you get an animation! :D

Shotgun is my "Franken 870" that I built off a stripped receiver. Bought guts for it (all that was inside the receiver was the ejector), +3 mag extension, 20" IC barrel, cheap side-saddle (that surprisingly hasn't let me down yet) and had a Knoxx Spec Ops but didn't like that so put a stock off an NEF Pardner on it. Didn't realize the bolt I ordered was for a Marine Magnum, so it's got the nice nickel-plated bolt bringing total number of different finishes found on the gun to three - blued barrel and receiver (with rust pitting), parked mag extension and nickel bolt!

00B groups well and it throws slugs where I want them to go.

If you look close to where I put the stock, you can tell I shoot carbine more than anything else. Got the butt on my pectoral.
