Just picked up a Lc Smith 12ga field grade sxs, was traveling by SC and got it for $500 (good deal for lgs I think?)

Excited to take it out but I don’t really understand what ammo I can and cannot shoot through it, my understanding is that I can’t use the higher pressure loads and should stick to birdshot? View attachment 296819
Wouldn't hurt to check the value online at "The Blue Book of Guns".

It will cost a little bit, but it might be worth more than $500.

I would only shoot shorty shells in this Smith sxs, the chambers are 2 9/16 and 2 3/4 shells will probably get stuck.
They can't fully open all the way and can make to much pressure.
Go to utube and see how to make your own blackpowder shells, very easy.
    Beautiful shotgun!

    Thanks bull,

I’ll look into it. I didn’t realize how old it was till I asked the salesperson if it came with chokes.

    I've got a 1911 LC Smith Monogram, in 20ga.
Only 51 Monograms made in 20ga.
Worth a little bit more than $500.
    Nice!
Just took mine for a quick trip to the range. Works fine but I didn’t know sxs shotguns have some residual smoke? In the barrel after it’s fired.

going to disassemble it later for deep clean.

I bought this Browning BPS High Capacity Home Defense 12 Gauge Shotgun, 20" barrel, 7+1 back in 2009. It made its debut at the 2007 SHOT Show in 2007. I believe it was only in production for 1 year. It's a tank!

I know I posted this in another thread but here is my latest or actually my daughter latest shotgun which she uses for her competitions. We added the TSK stock to it.

...And this here Belgian made Browning A5 in 16ga. I had bought an SKB Orion in 12 ga with a full set of Briley chokes from him about a year ago and his grandson threw a fit about it so we made a deal for a swap on this unit. I love the wood on this one.
