Next time you go to walmart, look at the blue sign on the door that says it is a felony to bring an unlicensed firearm in. It has the code on the bottom IIRC.
The is no license fore long guns.

You misunderstand what that sign means and this is why you believe carrying a rifle into walmart is illegal.

That sign gives notice of the fact that penalty for carrying a handgun into the licensed premises in violation of 46.02 is increased from a misdemeanor to a felony. Has nothing to do with rifles.

Assuming private property, a gunbuster sign effectively prohibits any carry of a long gun in a particular location, correct?
On private property (home, business, etc.) the owner can't make laws, only rules. If you wanted to come in my house or place of business (assuming it's not otherwise controlled by the government), and I didn't want you to, trespassing would probably be the only offense that would apply.

In Texas, these are the places prohibited from carrying a rifle:

    1. The premises of businesses licensed to sell alcohol. (unless licensed, then legal)
    2. A business receiving 51% of its income from serving alcohol.
    3. School premises, without permission.
    4. Premises of a parimutuel race track: horse or dog racing.
    5. Voting place, including during early voting. Don’t carry past the “No Campaigning” signs.
    6. The premises of a courtroom, without permission.
    7. Secure area of an airport, inside the metal detectors.
    8. Correctional facility.
