lmao... in all honesty.. I built it to shoot pigs :) Kyle can back me up.. that was my plan all along... I actually took it out to the range and shot it with the new bipod on this past weekend, printed a .75" 4 round group at 200 yds..

I wish I had some pictures of my setup:
-Remington 700 SPS stainless in .243 Win
-Bell and Carlson Alaskan 2 stock
-Old-style Remington trigger polished up with a Holand's trigger spring installed
    -DNZ one-piece scope mount
-Bushnell 4-12x40, older Bausch and Lomb model

It was a sub-MOA rifle out of the box, so I suspect when I handload I'll get some pretty good results.

Because I don't think a good rifle needs to cost an arm and a leg - my budget 3 gun build.

    Double Star lower
    JP single-stage trigger (SASS take-off)
    DIY bobbed hammer
RGuns carbine upper - M4 profile barrel, 1:9, M4 ramps, carbine gas system
DIY low profile adjustable gas block
Hogue rifle length free float hand guard
Millett DMS scope in SWFA mount, added a throw lever since the pic
    MOE pistol grip
    GoGun brake

Shoots smooth, and I've printed sub-MOA groups with an upper that cost $280 without the bolt group.

    Is that a 16" barrel????

Built my first AR lower today. I've been reading here and elsewhere, and talking to friends who do it, so I decided to roll the dice on it.

Thought I would go cheap on this one in case I screwed up on it. Got a Para stripped lower, and the DPMS lower kit, along with a $50 stock / buffer kit. Got it all at CTD for under $250.

Pretty interesting I had a hell of a time with the pin for the bolt release. Turns out I was using the wrong one. The correct one had rolled under the diagram.

Also had a hard time getting the correct sequence on the rear pin / spring combination, along with the buffer tube stop pin. Did that about four times before I got it right.

Found a video on YouTube to follow along with. Prior to this, I had not even taken a lower apart in any way.

Glad I did it. I think I could likely do it in about an hour now. I am planning to get a better lower and better parts next time. Likely a CMMG lower to match my 300 upper. And maybe a two stage trigger. I was surprised how much those cost. Cheapest was $160 at CTD. Prob cheaper online.
