Glad to hear you like your R model. I agree calling it the 556R is crazy. What would a 762x51 version be? 556W? I handled a 556R in Academy last night. I really liked it. Mag changes didnt look too bad either. I handled the SWAT models as well. Rails are nice but its a lot of rail and i dont need most of it. I do like the Classic length over the Patrol as well.

As long as the deal holds up im supposed to pick this up this weekend. 556

I agree with that and a 308 is better than either of those.

X39 price is easier on the wallet than 308. I'd pick up one of these if I had the cash. Not big on folding stocks but I can ignore it.
It looks sweet man. Great buy.

I shoot pistols much more than rifles so to me i dont go for the cheap caliber rifles. Nothing wrong with 762x39 though.
