Cool! I have heard that the reliability issues have been solved now and the only remaining problem is the heavy trigger. I didn't think it was that bad when I handled it and dry fired it, but that is just me. I think when he finally gets the chance to shoot it he will like it.

I've got the SW9VE and love it. Put many rounds through it reliably. Doesn't necessarily bother me, but yes, the trigger is on the heavier side.
