Silencer engraving requirements?

Can someone point me to the rules/laws for requirements on engraving silencers?

I found the one for SBR's, but not for silencers.

I'm not saying you aren't correct. But I can't find it in the actual laws or even the NFA Handbook.

Can someone point me to the actual law that spells it out? Or even the page in the handbook that states it?

Justia :: 27 C.F.R. Subpart G—Registration and Identification of Firearms

Section 102 states:
"You, as a manufacturer, importer, or maker of a firearm, must legibly identify the firearm as follows:"

As a Form 4 transfer of a purchased Silencer, I do not fit that category, do I? The manufacturer that I bought it from needs to follow these laws, but they don't apply to me, do they?

Correct, only people who make stuff need to engrave, if you are buying it on F4, it is already done.

That doesn't necessarily mean it's legal to have one in your possession in this state or others.... You better check the criminal code. Perhaps some LEO can enlighten us.
