I'm looking for sling recommendation for my AR.

I did come across the following series of videos from Brownells PoliceStore and they were very informative.

    Tactical Sling Series -- Introduction

I think I want to go with a 2 point sling, but I'm interested in hearing what you all recommend.

I will primarily be using it for carbine or 3 gun matches.

You beat me to it, Phil, as I was looking up the links. I'll post it anyway.

I prefer 2 point to 1 point. Wouldn't have a 3 point if you gave it to me.

Highly recommend Blue Force Gear: Weapon Slings

Further recommend this one as it is what I use:
Weapon Slings : Vickers Sling - Acetal Hardware

My N4 has limited travel QR cups, which is also what I recommend as attach points. I don't like spring clip attachments. YMMV.

I agree with the 2 vs 1 vs 3. I've tried all 3 styles, converted a 3 point to a two point, and have found pretty big differences among single point designs that make some a lot better than others.

All depends on how the rifle's going to be used, and how the sling is going to be used, but overall I learned quickly to hate the 3 point sling.

My VTAC sling is far more tactical than i am. I usually just leave it one length. Its cool i guess but usally simpler and less cool is betterer.
About the most I do with my padded VCAS is transition from carbine to pistol, and to secure it on my back if I am climbing. But I like having the extra versatility should I ever need it.

I had a couple of really nice custom leather slings for my AR but settled instead into using M1 Garand web slings for almost 8 years of competition. There are some seriously fine big name shooters who show off their sponsored leather slings then use the M1 web sling on the firing line.

The M1 slings aren't pretty but they are as good as it gets for someone who actually uses a sling for firing. I would not use anything else!

I just use one of the $15 2 point specials from Academy with some Midwest Industries QDs. Works just dandy for supported offhand shots and just slinging my AR on my back.

I would suggest the Magpul MS2 or MS3 sling if you intend on using the AR in a dynamic training/real life environment. I've used on two deployments so far and a number of shooting schools. The big selling points are that it can quickly be converted back and forth from 2 point to 1 point. You can use it as a 2 point for using it as a carry strap and slinging the rifle on your back or keeping it tight to your body when going hands on. When in 2 point mode it has a quick adjust strap so you can easily adjust the length to bring it close or long and loose. And 1 point mode is very useful for actual shooting so you can do quick shoulder to shoulder transitions without the sling getting in the way but still drop the rifle if you're switching to a secondary.

Here's how I carry mine, a habit I picked up from the Israelis when I was posted to the Golan Heights.

I've been working with the Magpul MS 4 and so far I'm very impressed.
