Ive only shot 500 yards with an MG. Maybe in a year or 2 ill have a long range unit. We can meet at Best of the West and use the 1000 yard range.

Bout a 2.5-3 hour drive for me, but would probably be willing to do it once I get more experienced out to 600 and develop a load that will carry out to that range. Current load is gonna go subsonic around 850 yards.

Really cool thing at 600 yards.

    Bang..crap, I missed.....oh, never mind, now it's swinging.

    An emotional roller coaster.

I definitely need more work at 600 and under before I try to go any longer. Once I can consistantly hit that 600 yard steel then I will worry about going further out.

BOTW is closer for me but I don't think they have steel targets. Not sure though. I am sure that steel is funner than paper though.

I'm going to try to rig up some smaller portable target holders to get a batter idea of impacts. High/low and what not.

I still gotta learn to read the wind. Gonna try to make up some charts and start tracking this stuff. Guess I need to settle and components and stock up too.

Like $250 expensive or more? Ive looked at a Redfield but stopped when confronted with straight vs angled.

    Like $1000 or more.

My absolute limit ever is probably going to be around $500. I have a cheaper one (<$200) but it just doesn't have the clarity needed.

In fact the only thing that I have in my arsenal that's made to reach out and touch something would be my 1903 Springfield.
