Smoked Tilapia

I've grilled tilapia on the propane grill before, but I've never smoked it. (I know, It's hard to smoke a fish because they keep going out! )
With time on my hands, I decided to give it a try. I took 6 of the individually frozen filets, thawed them and put them in the electric smoker preheated @ 200 degrees. The recipe I consulted said 2 hours. I checked at 1 hour and ten minutes and they were perfectly done! Not too smoky, and falling apart!
I highly recommend it. I'll be doing this again! Oh, I used apple wood chips because that's all I had.

I wish I could. Wife can't stand tilapia.

But, we smoke plenty of salmon. Smoked sockeye with a glass of wine.... Yummmmmy! Make a rabbit hug a hound!

You really might want to research tilapia. China is the biggest exporter. Dirt Jobs did a fish farm once in Commipornia. The tilapia were put in to the tanks that held stripped bass to eat a huge portion of the fecal material. If it eats fish shit in commiepornia what do you think it eats in china?

Tilapia is used in fish farms to eat other fishes poop and clean up the water.Then the good fish is harvested followed by the fattened up shitfish, oh I mean Tilapia.

Never considered smoking tilapia. Won an auction once for a giant smoked salmon thing. Pretty awesome.

Tilapia is a trash fish raised in swimming pools full of sewer in places like Vietnam
They have successfully marketed it in restaurants as a sought after dish.. but I ain’t falling for it.
