Gin & Tonics remind me of being on safari. Sitting around a big fire in the middle of the boma, grilling meat on the braai with the Southern Cross overhead. Lions roaring in the distance with jackals & hyenas closer. And as everyone else has nodded out you heard a leopard panting if your lucky!

    Okay, you're definitely pickled!

    Here
I told my wife about the panic ammo buying and she asked if I wanted to get some. Hell yea, don't gotta ask me twice. So I bought and received 1k Berry's 380, 2k Berry's 9mm bullets, 1k 223 rounds and a couple boxes of 30-30. Just had to shop around some and not pay much over regular prices, if any. My actual panic buy was mason jars, I'll be damned if I can't make my BlackBerry jelly/jams/marmalade.

Marmalade? You ain't from around here, are ya?

Shit I consider anything more spreadable than a jelly or jam a marmalade. Like butter to margarine. When the consistency is too thin and best used for pancakes or ice cream topping. Born and raised here

Edit: I see marmalade is traditionally made from citrus. Didn't know that, self taught on canning because I saw my Memaw used to do it. Learn something new all the time...replace marmalade with jacked up jelly then :beat:

For some reason, there seemed to be no shortage of booze like there is with bread, fresh meat, TP and ammo.
Seems there's no shortage of bread or meats. Sam's Club pilgrimage this morning was able to get enough to stave off the hungry beasts in my house. As for TP, my last 36 pack a month or so ago should last at least 5 weeks, plenty of time for stores to restock.

Only purchase during this craziness was some 300 Blackout projectiles. Got them in 4 days, even before the email that said it was shipped came to my inbox. Really good price too, $73 for 500. Need to do some test loads to see how they shoot. I've been using Nosler BTs in the same weight. They look different so I think point of impact will change.

Not sure it qualifies for a panic purchase.

Weird thing is that I was running low on 9 and 45 so I ordered a box or two back in January. Great prices on them too. I've been going to the range more since my wife left, and was actually in danger of running out.

The toaster pastries, not the gun. Had that one for almost 20 years.

How much you want for those Brown Sugar Cinnamon?

JK. I went to the store hungry last week, and bought over $100 worth of snacks. And I don't eat many. I found a big plastic tub laying around and put them all in there. Probably got enough to last till June, not kidding.

Gotta have the snacks. Sure you can live forever on plain white rice and boiled water flavored pasta. But need some stuff to spice things up.

The HEB brand counterfeit pop tarts are not bad. I should have bought a crate of them.

I’m pretty set but I did get some .40 cal. Not because I needed it, but because I wanted it. I happened across a .40 cal SW third generation auto close to a year ago. Never had that caliber before so hence no ammo in the coffers. I’m dying to shoot it so I grabbed my ankles and bought a box. If this crisis ever blows over I’ll add that caliber to my stock

Nothing really except some cast bullets which are in short supply. The casters haven't really been gouging, you just have to wait.

I've kept enough components on hand to avoid an unpleasant situation. But I don't stock all that many bullets. Too damn heavy and bulky. Sometimes I've had to wait a month or so but I try to order ahead. Hasn't really been a problem outside of the modest delay. I do have a trunk packed with all the necessary bullet casting gear just in case.
