The Dems are parading that little gal out of NY that is a Socialist, they could have picked someone else because she is dumber than a mud fence but she is young and my bet is they are laying the foundation with her generation.
Socialism is an easy sell because it's based upon the key words of "Easy, Good, and FREE", whatever you want is gonna be easy, free and good, 3 words that don't travel together very often. Of course there is the age old retort to those that hawk its free aspect...'how are you going to pay for it?' To that they say its easy, Apple is worth a Trillion, let's tax them and take half of that, Zuckerman is worth $120Billion, he doesn't need all that so we take the rich more and we can get $60 Billion from him. To the socialist the answer is simple and easy, just tax more not a problem. Then the little NY Socialists said yesterday that if we have universal healthcare we will save money on funerals because less people will die and they will pay for the medical! Like I said she is stupid, so stupid she could not pour piss out of boot with the directions written on the heel
Having said that what we know that socialism can be found around the globe and in spite of massive failures it keeps raising its ugly head and now its done it in the US, which I NEVER thought was possible. It's coming and going to land squarely in your laps (note I said YOUR laps). My bet is socialism will begin making its appearance in the next Dem to sit in the Oval office and from there my guess is 2 more Dem elections concurrently and it will be reality. In time I would about 20 years from now.
My logic here is Silicon Valley which is about as far left as you can get. In my 25 years in the IT world I say little left wing thinking, but those of us there are now mostly gone, I retired when I sold my company in 2001 and have never looked back. Zuckerman woth about $120B is far left and certainly has no issue with Socialism as he is one of the biggest proponents of UBI, Universal Basic Income where you are paid not to work. Zman is not smart enough know we have UBI now and have had it for long time, its called Welfare and we see how that has worked out for us.
Compare the Top 5 % of yesterday with the Top 5% of today: Yesterday's 5%ers came from the oil fields and manufacturing factories, lumber, land and these hard me knew hard work and high risk. Today its electrons and clean hands, AC heated offices, low risk extremely high rewards.
In all Socialist modern Socialist govt we find the same thing a union of the extreme wealthy capitalists linked to the top level of the govt. Our nearest example is Mexico, where about 10% of the population control 90% of the wealth of the country. You have poor Mexicans and wealthy and few in between. Socialism does not like middle class and under Obama our middle class was decimated. He knew well what he was doing!
All this brings up an interesting question: Can the left take over and implement a Socialist form of govt and accomplish it WITHOUT massive gun control. I don't know of any Socialist movement that was accomplished without a lot of people dying in the process.
That said I and my guns won't be around so what happens then.
