How long does the fine have to be past due before they can start the process of taking the house?

I doubt the scenario I painted would ever happen, anyways. I've met a couple of the HOA people and they seem like nice folks. The issue I have is that there seems to be a huge possibly of abuse. From what I've gathered from this thread, the amount of debt owed doesn't matter, and the HOA doesn't have to goto court. Taking someone's house for a tiny amount of debt and then selling it for next to nothing sounds like legalized theft to me. The HOA should have to goto court and get a judgement filed against the home owner just like anyone else.

Since hey were married the home is community property. Legally, they had to contact the husband with the foreclosure notice. The HOA has broken the law. Sue the crap out of them. I'd come home and do em.

    HAHAHA!

I could be happy living in a school bus, but we do live in a nice neighborhood.

I still say he got exactly what he had coming to him here. He knew what he was getting into when he signed the contract, he didn't pay the dues he agreed to pay when he signed the contract, he got evicted.

Suck it up idiot... and move on.

I will admit that it is a sh*tty situation for sure... I just think people are protesting based on their emotions rather than listening to the facts. He was deployed after the debt was already known and ignored. Just because this guy is deployed doesn't make him an innocent party here. We have a few deadbeat pricks in the armed forces just like we do on any city street.

I'd bet you are right about there being a ton more to the story.

Looks like the original owners are still living in the house. The person who bought it at auction sold it to another guy. . . who looks like is out 135k so far. I get the feeling there are lots of different version of stories being floated around.

it isnt as bad as ya might think,

but the crackheads kindof ruin it, anyway, funny you mentions the school bus, there was a guy that had one, no engine, instead inthe front where the engine went, he had rigged it up as BBQ pit. was hilarious.
