yes.... brass. Steel is coming in at 0.18 pre-tax per round.

Academy... It was still setting on the pallet. Had to ask the guy stocking if they had any 9mm on that pallet. He said yeah... jaw hit the ground when I saw 500rd boxes. I was lucky, I think, because there were 5 100rd boxes in each 500rd box. In the past I had bought those 100rd boxes. They had 100rd individual boxes on the pallet as well. I got lucky insomuch as he happened to open the 500rd carton first. There were only 2 cartons in the cardboard box and we had to open a few of the 100rd boxes before finding another box with the 500rd packaging.

Congrats all the same.

I wish Academy still opened early, I'd have a chance to hit them at opening before starting work. As it stands now 9am is always right in the middle of meeting hell.

Ya it felt like I hit the lottery when they had some Browning 150 Rd packs at one in Austin. 31.99 for 150 was damn good. 124gr to boot! Wish I could have bought 10 boxes but I'll take what I can get.

Another guy walked up just as I did and also marveled at the selection. They also had some 380 ammo which he promptly scooped off the shelf and took all of. I thought who needs 18 boxes of 380 hollow points but hey it's America, to each his own.

At all the Academy's here(in the Houston area) The limit is 3 boxes on 9mm, .223 and 7.62. And a 5 box limit on any ammunition. That means you could get one of each or or 3 of any, or any combination there of, and say 2 boxes of 12ga shotgun shells to come up with a total of 5 boxes of ammunition. With the stated limits that 380 guy could of only purchased 5 boxes.

The signs posted that day only had a 3 box limit on 223 and 9mm. He definitely grabbed them all, whether or not they refused him at checkout, idk.

Yeah... I went to one Academy and all they had posted was In the hunting dept. ”5 Box limit on ammunition” so I picked up 5 100 rd boxes 9mm. Got to the register and the cashier pointed to a sign stating “3 Box limit on 9mm...” soooo had to leave 2 behind.

Also, they were technically 20 or 25Rd boxes so he may have gotten most of them.

I got an email from Sportsman's Outdoor Superstore yesterday for the 500 round case of WWB like this. Immediately went to the web site and found this: It was already OOS @ 60¢ a pop. Same with the 115 gr.

Yup... until I can't get it at a lower price I'm not paying those jacked up prices.

$0.60 X 1500 = $900.00 + 8.25%($74.25) + shipping. Don't know what shipping would cost but on a $900.00 order I'm sure 25.00 would be a low mark. Price+tax+shipping put's the CPR @ $0.67 PR. Yikes!

Local place has piles of it for $0.60ish/ round in a few different varieties. Guess many here don't see fit to pay that.

Another local place has 223 available. Don't think it's the cheap plinking stuff but I really don't pay attention to it either.

I’ve only recently bought 700 and 500 grain S&W 500 ammo. At least those prices are still the same as before. Did get a great deal on some .338 lapua ammo 154 rounds for $150 kinda fell in my lap.
