At least someone’s head did roll, CO was relieved of command.

Since I doubt it was the CO’s tablet, it makes me wonder if there may have been other indications of incompetence.

I may be wrong, but something tells me it was an issued tablet with tech orders for the maintenance crew.

Not really any different than hand tools...gotta secure them before firing engines
Yeah I heard that it was the electronic checklist (but that might have been their educated guessing).

I'm thinking it could have been the Electronic Flight Bag which would have the pilot's/copilot's pre-flight checklist. I think the MX crew uses ruggedized laptops.

A friend from high school went into the Air Force and was working on a flight line as some jets were getting ready to take off. A sergeant and a new guy were checking the planes and the sergeant noticed that a safety pin had not been removed from a drop tank. He signaled for the plane to hold up and he reached in and removed the pin. The new guy saw what he was doing and pulled the pin for the tank on that side. Then he tried to toss the pin across under the plane to the sergeant. It got sucked into the intake and destroyed the engine instantly.
