    Build one!

(Is it windy out there, (I know, stupid question!)
Once I can find more info, I'll decide.
It sure sounds right for me.

    Wind died about sunset.
Gonna be a cold sunrise I figure.

I like the 6mm bullet selection and easy to find brass.

Looks like the 95gr VLDs mentioned in the article will goes in to the transonic region right around 1k. Not bad coming out of an AR15 running mostly standard parts (afaik).

    Meh.

Read about the round before and, like most new rounds, it just doesn't offer that much more performance than what is already available.

People are already shooting 223 Remington past 1000 yards.

I hope it does well but my guess is the opposite.

Some people are shooting .223 out to 1000 yards, but some people also shoot .308 out to a mile. Doesn't make either one very good at it.

Pushing a round way past its normal limits is impressive to me. That takes real skill and investment by the shooter.

I just see a very limited market for this round.

100% agree. Being able to consistently hit beyond where you should requires tons of work and skill.

I agree with this also. But feel the same about the Grendel and AI rounds. Doesn't mean they are without merit. The same was also (and still is) said about 300BO. An answer to a question nobody asked. But it's got a following.

I believe there are a lot of people who would like to take the AR-15 to 1K relieably and accurately without having to push a .223 round well beyond its typical limits. In this area the only real competition is the Grendel. This round has the financial backing of a major ammo manufacturer so I see a definite advantage even with the Grendel's head start.

If match grade 95gr .224 bullets start showing up from multiple manufacturers incna see it taking off. Throw in some 75gr-80gr Vmax and the varmint guys will have plenty of interest as well.

Sounds like an argument for 1911s.

    Nope.

The Valkyrie is just a little improvement over other calibers. Not much gain and a small percentage of shooters will see the benefits.

Almost every handgun is a major improvement over the 1911 and everybody will see the benefits.
