    In the woods...
Went outside this evening to fire off a magazine of 9mm at the usual targets. After three rounds I thought I felt a fire ant start on my ankle. Within a milisecond I knew it was NOT a fireant!!!

Never did find the culprit. It got me through my sock, just above my shoe on my ankle.

My guess is "scorpion". They are small around here. I think I would have seen a wasp fly away.

I immediately put bleach, then ice on it.

It felt almost like I had been electrocuted and made me jump!

Oh well, only one hole, so it wasn't a snake!

Swipe a plastic credit card across it. Then I would drench it with Hydrogen Peroxide. Take a sharpee marker and make a circle around it, and then watch it very carefully. If it grows in size or if you develop a fever seek medical attention. Then listen to this song it will make you feel better:

I'd say scorpion too. Saw an article the other day where A&M claimed chiggers, locusts and scorpions were having a field day this year due to the early heat. I can vouch for the chiggers and locusts.

    Gunz are icky.
Serious question: Did you experience a copper like taste in your mouth about 20-30 minutes after the sting?

Cow Killer or wasp. I've been hit by yellow jackets too many times to count. Sounds just like their sting.

I hate yellow jackets. In Portland in the fall when they start going to ground they get really defensive. Their favorite place to go to ground is in thick brush like boxwood hedges that sit in the shade. Since the neighborhood where I worked had a plethora of hedges and tons of shade those little bastards were everywhere. In that shade you never see them till it's too late.

Worst day I got stung three times. Worst week was seven times.

At least my customers were good. I'd tell them of the problem and they'd take care of it right away. I had the business cards for The Bee Guy in my vehicle. I always told him I should get a commission.
