By the way, you are aware that you can ship it to another Texas resident without going through a FFL, right? It just can't be through the Post Office, but UPS and/or FedEx can ship a pistol within the state without a FFL involved...

Intrastate shipping by a common carrier and NOT through the USPS IS legal in TEXAS for both rifles and pistols...

"A nonlicensee may ship a firearm by carrier to a resident of his or her own state or to a licensee in any state. A common or contract carrier must be used to ship a handgun. In addition, Federal law requires that the carrier be notified that the shipment contains a firearm and prohibits common or contract carriers from requiring or causing any label to be placed on any package indicating that it contains a firearm. [18 U. S. C. 922(a)( 2)( A) and 922( e), 27 CFR 178.31]"

shipping handguns within state is legal as long as you don't believe the receiving party to be exempt from legally owning a firearm, or in this case a handgun. Like OldFart mentioned, has to go through UPS or FedEx, and you have to tell them that it's a pistol.
