243 standard and 243 Ackley rounds side x side. In short just more powder capacity and higher velocity but also higher pressures will be present but well within reason. These cartridges can still be loaded using standard load data as well. Added plus is the steeper shoulder angle gives better/longer case life with far less to no trimming needed depending on amount of times cases are loaded. I had a 250 Ackley for a long time now the 243 and there will be another.

It's not designed to run at higher pressure but same pressure levels with more powder which equals more speed typically.

I've considered the AI for a re-barrel option of my current .280. Problem is, that cartridge already does everything I've ever needed it to as is.
A few years ago I bought a 7mm WSM since I'm already stocked with .284 projectiles. Since then I never have found an opportunity to push it to it's limit. In my experience you won't get too many shots over 300 yards hunting in Texas.

What kind of barrel life do you expect get out of the .243AI ? Always heard the .243 eats throats in 2K or so rounds.
Not something I’m concerned with actually, I’d never shoot it that much. Besides it’s currently for sale. The Ackley is more foregiving than the standard round due to shoulder angle.

Don't have the specific AI gains of wildcats in tables available...
but I would assume a notable improvement would be realized.

My familiarity with 35's starts tame and gets wilder.
The start, of course the .38 Special, followed by the 357 magnum, a 357/44 Bain & Davis, then the maximum, next the Herrett, then the Remington, and lastly a wildcat known as the 358 Alpo or .358x444 Improved.
With the 35-30, you've got a rare bird there, my man.

All cartridges are utilized in various barrel lengths in my contender.
The last one kicks like a mule in that light rifle so I filled one of my rynite buttstocks with lead shot to detente the abuse it delivers when heavy hitters on on the plate.
