Today I went to an indoor range after visiting friends in Austin. I found a pretty nice Stevens Buckhorn Model 56 for a bit over $100 with tax. The bore is super clean, no rust, but some wear on the finish. Someone tried to refinish the stock an there are some runs, no big deal to sand and add a clear finish and touch up the black paint at the fore end. I will not refinish the metal wear as it gives some character. Can't take pictures at the moment, but this brings back good childhood memories.
